Veterans Day Activities for 3rd-Grade

These Veterans Day activities for 3rd-grade are the perfect way to incorporate celebrating our Veterans into your math classroom.

First, if you are a veteran, thank you for your service!

My students loved coloring these pages! It was a great way to review multiplication while letting the students do something they loved.

This resource was amazing and my students loved. It definitely offered them some good challenging practice but they enjoyed it.

In order to to accommodate all ten factors (1-10) on the multiplication worksheets, students are required to find the product in a range of numbers.

Why do I ask students to find the product and then find it in a range of numbers for multiplication?

The simple answer is that I want to promote good mental number sense and arithmetic strategies. I have students solve the multiplication fact sentence and THEN find that product in a range. Instead of just solving the same fact for one color over and over. For example; you won't see 7 x 4 and 4 x 7 for one color.

Also, since my color-by-number worksheets contain more rigor, I provide TWO FREE BONUSES for intervention students.

For division students find the quotient and use the color listed above the correct quotient to color the picture.

Again, there are two free bonuses given with the division worksheets for intervention students.
