Multiplication Strategies

What are the 5 strategies of multiplication? They are grouping or equal groups, which should be introduced first, followed by arrays, repeated addition, skip counting, and number lines.

Equal Groups and Multiplication

First, for the equal groups task cards students will find the number of groups and the number of each group then solve a multiplication sentences with those factors.

There are 12 task cards to accommodate teachers that teach facts 1-10 or 1-12.

Again, the task cards come in printable PDF and digital versions to be used in Google Slides™.

Using Arrays and Multiplication

Next, using arrays and multiplication task cards students will write or type the multiplication sentence for the array in the space given.

Also, there are 12 task cards to accommodate teachers that teach facts 1-10 or 1-12.

These task cards come in printable PDF and digital versions to be used in Google Slides™ as well.

Repeated Addition and Multiplication

For the skip counting task cards, students will finish the pattern by writing or typing the rest of the pattern for each factor.

Number Lines and Multiplication

Number lines and multiplication is not ready for digital classrooms yet, but will be up soon. You can still purchase the PDF version of this resource. I am struggling with creating and understandable way for students to complete this activity in digital classrooms.

Multiplication Facts Task Cards

The multiplication facts task cards cover facts 1-10 or 1-12, depending on each school's curriculum. Each task card is separated into factors and students will write or type the answer to the multiplication sentences in two ways. This reinforces the commutative property of multiplication.

I hate it when I invest in something and later feel like what I purchased was not worth what I paid.

Alternately, I love it when I can provide teachers and homeschool parents with quality resources that they can utilize.

For that reason, I compiled a free resource containing ONE task card out of every task card in my MEGA bundle. That way, teachers can try the resource before they make an investment.
